Elena graduated from the University of Iowa with a B.B.A in Marketing and International Business. She earned a J.D. from Creighton University School of Law in 2003. Elena is licensed to practice law in the state of Nebraska, the state of Iowa, the immigration court, the United Stated District Court of Nebraska, and the US court of appeal for the Eight Circuit.

For more than fourteen years, Elena practiced law at a private immigration law firm in Omaha. She sucessfully represented clients from many states in Immigration Courts. She left private practice in 2017 and joined the non-profit world where she enjoyed helping low-income families. She worked at Immigrant Legal Center, and represented children in both state and immigration courts. Elena also worked at the Women’s Center for Advancement (WCA) in 2019. During her time at the WCA, Elena
focused on family, immigration, and juvenile law. Elena is also a certified Guardian Ad Litem in juvenile court.
